Gather your microscope, a pencil, and a curious grown-up. Use dry objects on a steady surface. Never point the lens at the sun. Follow the device's instructions.
Find two fallen leaves. What patterns do you notice? How are their surfaces different?
Compare a cotton tee, a sweater, and paper. Which has the most surprising texture?
Place a pinch of salt on dry dark paper. Look at the shapes. Do all the grains look alike?
Draw a line on paper. Explore its edge. Try a softer or darker line and compare.
Pick one safe, dry everyday object. Predict what you will see, then take a closer look.
Be gentle with nature: leave insects, plants, and habitats undisturbed. Wash hands after exploring.
